10 Bahamas Honeymoon Destinations

Here are 10 destinations you should consider visiting for your honeymoon in the Bahamas…

1. Exuma.

If you happen to be staying at Atlantis, or on New Providence Island, there are day trips available to Exuma. However, you can choose this as your sole Bahamas destination.

2. Abacos.

This tends to be the most popular of the out-islands. Abacos is called the sailing capital of the world, so if you enjoy boating, this is the island for you. There are miles of secluded beaches so you can escape from it all. This island is depicted by a New-England style architecture and small villages with an old-style Bahamian feel. This island offers tourist areas and secluded areas, depending on which beat you hit.

3. Andros.

Andros is the largest out-island, but the least explored. If you like discovering new territory, this is the island for you. It is, however, the bonefishing capital of the world. Andros is known for its underwater caves, blue holes, and huge barrier reef. There are a good number of resorts on this island.

4. Eleuthera.

Eleuthera is one of the most laid-back out-islands. It is divided into the north and south. You can visit a cave where early pilgrims once stayed. The theme of this island is British Colonial, evident in the famous Gregory Town. One other interesting attraction is the pineapple fields. This island also has a 100 fathom deep inland “Ocean Hole, where you can swim!

5. Harbor Island.

Harbor Island Beach sits at the North End of Eleuthera. This beach is famous for its pink and peach colored sands.

6. Cat Islands.

Cat Islands are the least frequented of the Bahamas out-islands. If you are looking for true peace and unchartered territory, this is where you want to be. This island is considered one of the most beautiful in the Bahamas. Here you can find the eight-mile Pink Sand Beach.

7. Bimini.

Bimini is a great fishing spot, so if you love fishing, choose this out-island. The island is only 7 miles wide and 700 feet long. The island is actually comprised of three smaller islands, north, south and east. North Bimini has a straw market and museum; and south Bimini has a marshland and salt water bay. Bimini is the closest island to Florida- only 50 miles East of Miami!

8. Acklins.

This small island has only 400 residents. If you want to find solitude and secluded beaches, choose this destination. You will find odd rock formations and beautiful plants here. One great plus to this island is the 1,000 miles of shallow water.

9. Long Island.

This island is on the Tropic of Cancer. There are rocky cliffs and caves, as well as miles of white sandy beaches. This out-island was visited by Christopher Columbus! After this, Loyalists came to the island and built the famous plantations. The island also offers many historical churches and other historical sites.

10. Berry Islands.

This is a stretch of 30 cays, many of which are uninhabited. There is an island-hopping tour you can take of the Berry Islands. The Berry Islands are also known for some incredible dive sites. The name came from the abundance of berry trees found here. Fishing here includes mackeral, sailfish, and marlin. Two of the cays found here, Bonds and Frazier’s Hog, actually raise livestock! Finally, this area is well-known for the number of millionaires living here.

Best Family Vacation In The Bahamas, Sheraton Lucaya in Grand Bahama – For Summer Or Spring Break

I live in Florida, but my family enjoys vacationing in the Bahamas because it is not quite as hot as in Florida and it is a better value. Generally, the hotels are much nicer in the Bahamas and also a better value.

I’ve stayed in many hotels in the Bahamas, but the Sheraton Lucaya is by far my favorite. I have two children (boys, now ages six and ten, but they have been traveling since they were babies) and my criteria for a good family hotel in the Bahamas is as follows:

1. The hotel must be clean. I am very particular of where my family sleeps and eats. I suppose I am a bit of a perfectionist, but my family really looks forward to and anticipates our family vacations. We deserve to feel comfortable and pampered and not worry if it’s safe or savory to sleep, bathe or be comfortable. I am most particular about the cleanliness of hotel bathrooms, hot tubs and pools.

2. It must be family friendly. I do not want dirty looks from other patrons if my children are having fun in the hotel pool or restaurant. But, I want the hotel to still be classy and not lacking because of all of the kids and families. Disney really has the family friendly atmosphere perfected and I want whatever hotel I stay in to embrace and welcome my family as much as possible.

3. The staff must be energetic, mature, and loving. Most family friendly hotels today have a kids club or some sort of camp or babysitting to entertain children. This is a nice idea, but not all hotels really excel at this. In order for me to feel comfortable leaving my children and in order for my children to want to participate in the camp, the staff really has to have a magic way with children (and with parents). You have to trust the employees and know they welcome your children.

4. The hotel has to be both relaxing and entertaining. I want to be able to relax in the hotel, but I don’t want it to be boring with nothing to do.

5. The hotel has to be reasonably priced. There are many hotels in the Bahamas which are wonderful but cost way too much. Atlantis is the gold standard, but if I stayed there, I could only afford to stay a few days. I need a clean, luxurious hotel with all the bells and whistles that is reasonably priced so I can afford to stay several days.

The Sheraton Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island fits the bill beautifully. I have gone here time and time again because it is a beautiful, clean, relaxing yet exciting resort that offers something for all members of my family. There are a lot of fun family activities and there are also opportunities for parents to be alone while the kids are entertained in the kids club. The staff is wonderful at engaging the kids.

My boys look forward to kids club as there is a different activity everyday. There is also a huge variety of outdoor activities as well as the relaxation of the beach. This resort is full of families so we feel very comfortable here. It has a Disney like atmosphere without the obnoxiousness that Disney sometimes has.

Price wise, the Sheraton Lucaya is very competitive. There are always deals on the resort and it is much cheaper than Florida or other sunny destinations

The best way to evaluate the Sheraton Lucaya is by viewing video footage, reviews, and photos. Visit the Sheraton Lucaya Family Vacation Review Website by clicking here to see videos, close up photos, and rock botton comparison prices on this very family friendly Bahamas vacation.

Bahamas Resorts For Your Own Piece of Paradise

Suppose you set out to create the perfect paradise, where would you begin? You might start with a tropical island – or better yet, seven hundred tropical islands; and surround them with pristine, silver sandy beaches lapped by crystalline turquoise surf. Now you’ve got the Bahamas. Spreading out over one hundred thousand square miles starting sixty miles east of Florida, Bahamas resorts are famous for having the clearest waters in the world. With its many hidden bays and small islets, the paradise of Bahamas found favor with Caribbean pirates who preyed on the gold, silver and other precious cargo brought from the New World. One sunken Spanish treasure ship yielded three million pounds in treasure to the divers who recovered it.

Moreover, each inhabited island in the Bahamas archipelago has its own rich customs and culture. New Providence Island is the center of the action, with the capital Nassau, Paradise Island, and Cable Beach all inclusive Bahamas resort areas. Here you can savor luxurious gourmet dining, enjoy world class entertainment; play craps, blackjack, baccarat, or slot machines in colorful casinos; and enjoy fun sports facilities (including a championship golf course). Nassau itself has a quaint English colonial atmosphere, with its pink Rawson Square government buildings, small restaurants and pubs dotting its picturesque side streets, and even horse-drawn carriage rides through the town. Near the wharf there is a new museum which highlights the Junkanoo (Bahamas Carnival, celebrated at New Years) tradition. The busy straw market features hundreds of sellers happy to bargain for souvenir treasures; and the international boutiques of Bay Street offer fashionable and elegant shopping.

Besides guided tours of the attractions of Nassau town, Bahamas resorts offer a vast selection of boat rentals and charters, from fully catered and crewed sailing trips to motorboats, small sailboats, and jet skis. You can snorkel, scuba dive, enjoy a barefoot picnic on a remote beach – even take a submarine ride! Bahamas all inclusive resorts are themselves paradise regained: everything you do, eat, or drink is covered in one upfront price so you don’t have to think about money, ever.

Besides the delights of Nassau town, you can kayak, water ski, rock climb, or swing on a flying trapeze. Bask on Bahamas powdery sands at Cable Beach, or take a relaxing dip in the pool and unwind in a bubbling Jacuzzi. You can savor exquisite gourmet meals with unlimited wine and drinks, great snacks and hors d’oeuvres, and premium umbrella drinks whenever the spirit moves you – no tipping allowed! When night falls the fun really begins with live entertainment and disco dancing – even karaoke contests. All inclusive Bahamas resorts are the ideal way to enjoy your piece of paradise under the sun!

To enjoy the Bahamas resorts experience at it’s best, wise travelers choose the Bahamas all inclusive option. With an all inclusive Bahamas package there are no extra charges, no tipping, just relaxing and enjoying paradise. To book your all inclusive Bahamas vacation, contact SuperClubs today.

Heavenly Bahamas Honeymoon Resorts

Celebrating under the attentive care of Bahamas honeymoon resorts, there might be no better way to commence a marriage. Consisting of over 700 mostly-uninhabited islands, the Bahamas have a lot of territory to encounter during your trip. Bahamas honeymoon packages can put you in touch with several different tropical paradises during any given vacation. You will never be without something new to experience. Even your second or third Bahamas honeymoon will be as fresh and unique as the first.

Every travel agency has its own selection of Bahamas honeymoon packages, so it is worthwhile to shop around and find the one that reaches your highest expectations. Whether it’s snorkeling in the sea or sunning on the silvery sand, the memories forged by a Bahamas honeymoon will remain with you for a lifetime.

The balmy, tropical atmosphere invites you to relax and enjoy life. At just about any given time you will be surrounded by the clear, blue sea on one side, with another sea of flourishing green vegetation on the other. Nature trails and guided tours immerse you into our truly genuine habitat: the great outdoors.

There is as much to explore under the water as above. Scuba diving and snorkeling are very fun and enlightening ways to pass the time. Experienced instructors guide you through a pristine underwater environment where you can explore a coral reef or maybe a shipwreck. Meet face-to-face with amazing underwater (aliens?) life forms including, yes, sharks!

Fine dining is an essential ingredient to a Bahamas honeymoon package. Restaurants offering gourmet preparation of the freshest local seafood prevail on the islands. Often spicy and always flavorful, Bahamian cuisine combines elements from around the world. The resulting seafood dishes are unlike anything else.

For more upbeat entertainment, casinos and nightclubs are a common scene on the islands. If you and your loved one would like to party with the pack, be sure your Bahamas honeymoon package puts you near one of the more enlivened districts. If crowds are not your thing, don’t fret. Plenty of secluded Bahamas honeymoon resorts are set peacefully apart from the masses, diligently catering to that special romantic moment, every moment of the day.

Bahamas is a sovereign nation, which means there are some minor restrictions involved with entry. The premium tourism destination that it is, however, means the rules are lenient and there isn’t much to be concerned with for typical Bahamas honeymoons. A passport and visa aren’t usually required, but verify with your travel agent exactly what paperwork you should bring to stay out of trouble. And most importantly of all, have fun!

If you are thinking about getting away from it all, you should check out some of the best hotels in Grand Bahama Island. Whether you want to lie around in the lap of luxury or you are looking for a secluded spot to hide out for awhile on the beach, check out these hotels.

The Pelican Bay at Lucaya Hotel is one of the newest boutique hotels in the Grand Bahamas. Considered “charming and intimate, ” this romantic getaway received the “Small Treasures of the Bahamas” award from the ministry of tourism.

Pelican Bay has state rooms available and waterside rooms. To create a feeling of being a home away from home, they give their extended guests a gold fish in a gold fish bowl.

The Sheraton Grand Bahama Island Lucaya Resort is across the street from the marketplace. It covers almost eight miles of beachfront and has four pools, a spa and fitness center and plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Resorts In Paradise Island

Two words that say it all with no elaboration required – Paradise Island! I have to confess that I am curious about who named it and was the name in the public domain, so it couldn’t be copyrighted? That having been said, as much as I would like and answer to this question what you want to know is about the resorts in Paradise Island, so I better stick to the point.

There are so many resorts available it is difficult to know where to begin, let it be said you can find:

* Resorts on the beachfront
* Hot deals on resorts
* Family deals
* Resorts on the quieter side of the island
* Smaller villas and hotels

These are only of small sample of the resorts and deals to be found on Paradise Island. But let us just take a look at resorts on the beachfront for now, because there is nothing quite like waking up to the sound of the waves of the oceans beating upon their sandy shores. No matter where in the world you are!

Because of the British Colonial history of the Island, what about the aptly named British Colonial Hilton, Nassau? Built in the early 1900’s this resort hotel is a landmark of style in the Bahamas. It is considered to be the grand Dame of hotels in Nassau, and has recently undergone a $70 million upgrade. They even have a double “O” suite available in honor of the indomitable James Bond.

As far as resorts in the Bahamas go, history to me always goes hand in hand with style, so take a look at the Marley Resort and Spa. This is a historic hotel which was once the Governors mansion; one can only imagine what kind of soirees took place here! However today this is the ultimate place to stay for boutique luxury of an African-Caribbean cross-over genre resort.

If isolation, but not total isolation is your style, what about the Paradise Island Beach Club? This resort offers the seclusion of a private escape (at a price), but still manages to keep the attractions close at hand.

Andros Island Hotels: Accommodation For Your Vacation

There are many hotels in Andros Island that you can stay at during your trip to the Bahamas. Andros Island is the largest island in the Bahamas and has accommodation that will fit any budget. Tourists come to Andros Island for the scuba diving and snorkeling and most of the hotels are in the three large towns of Andros Town, Congo Town and Nicholls Town.

Small Hope Bay Lodge is an all-inclusive hotel that tends to host scuba divers looking for an extraordinary beach getaway. There is a lounge area with dining and you can stay at the lodge, one of the beachfront cottages and use the patio, gift shop, office solarium and other areas.

There are also many resort hotels on Andros Island. One such resort is the South Andros Beach Club. This resort is on the nicest beach on the island and you can stay at their private beach house rental is you so chose. They have several different all inclusive vacation packages so you can fish, dive or just relax on the beach. This spot is very private with the nearest neighbor a quarter of a mile away.

Kamalamae cay is a private hotel. It encompasses 96 acres and has a spa. The spa offers many packages to help you relax and forget your hectic and busy life. You can enjoy your meals at the guesthouse and enjoy breakfast in your private beach villa as breakfast is made to order and everything is very fresh. If you are looking for the ultimate in luxury and privacy then Kamalamae Cay is a great choice.

Some accommodation for those on a tighter budget include the Emerald Palms resort hotel, Abaco Condos, The Look Out Villa Hotel, the Finiterre Hotel, the Bonefishing Club Hotel, Tiamo Resort, and many more. You will be sure to find a hotel that meets all of your needs.
